I started taking pictures at a young age and had a strong interest in art and science. In my teens I pursued various forms of art as well as creating on the first generation Mac computer (1984-FullPaint,MacPaint, and eventually Photoshop). I'm one those people who actually worked in first generation programs such as PageMaker, Quark Express, Photoshop, Word, etc.

After high school I attended UW Madison for 6 years. Course studies covered a wide gamut of interests besides my Electrical Engineering pursuit. Differential Equations to Theater Lighting, Computer Science, Economics, Political Science, Physics, and Art. Along the way I pursued side jobs in photography, graphic design, video, illustration, training, and retouching.

I've been doing professional prepress, post processing, and photography related work since 1992. I have had seminars and consulting from well known industry icons. I have a strong passion for digital arts and photography. The culmination of the two has provided with me endless enjoyment. I foresee a future rewarded with many interesting and creative possibilities to explore.

On a trail looking over a vast scenic valley after a long treacherous hike, Sunset next to my beautifuul wife with a fine glass of Red, Eating popcorn next to my kids in front of a family movie, these are the times I'm at peace. Thanks for taking your time to look at some of my photos.

Matt,
Congratulations on cleaning up on the photography awards in the past issue of Caribbean Travel.

Living up here in the northland, it's easy to flashback to any time spent in the Caribbean. I do some freelance writing and the Caribbean is my favorite subject.

Keep up the good work!

Well I don't think I can add too much of a fresh perspective, wonderful images. Amazing how you can push the color and not blow the images! It was the one fog photo below the tree line that caught my eye on dpreview, it seemed a bit pushed or something. I saw all the glowing comments which spark my curiosity. Your vast work speaks for it self. I followed your link and now I know why you got such high marks! Well done.

Thanks for sharing,

Don Grinde
